IS A HOME PURCHASE ON YOUR 2017 DO TO LIST?

IS A HOME PURCHASE ON YOUR 2017 DO TO LIST?

If a home purchase is on your 2017 TO DO list then now is the time to begin to prepare if you have not already done so.

Step One to purchase home in 2017  contact a lender to get some basics as to what you will need in order to make a home purchase a reality. You'll want to have handy your income information and some information about down payment ability.

When I first speak to a home buyer I like to have a discussion about that individual's ideal house payment and how that fits in the overall budget. We also discuss the general flow of how the home buying process works. This is something one can do months in advance of actually being in the housing market in 2017.  I don't pull credit when we intitially talk unless it makes sense to do so.

It is tremendously helpful to be pragmatic about the process. I recommend the home buyer get a folder and begin accumulating data such as tax returns, W-2's, bank statements, pay stubs, check stubs, etc so finding information is easier when the time comes the data is neeed.

A little preparation goes a long way. I love to help home buyers understand options whether they are buying their first homes, scaling up or back. It is great to share information before one actually writes a contract for a home purchase. As a Kentucky mortgage broker I have a variety of lenders and loan products; knowing what is available boosts the confidence level when negotiating the sale.
